This project involves renovating Amherst and Campbell Halls at Central Virginia Community College. The renovation will modernize 73,592 square feet of the buildings’ 104,231 total square feet. This includes new finishes, ceilings, flooring, and casework, as well as upgrading or replacing all major building systems. Key upgrades will address plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems, and will modify the Building Automation Controls System to integrate with new HVAC equipment. Improvements will also enhance fire and life safety systems, technology infrastructure, and accessibility for people with disabilities. Energy-efficient components will replace outdated doors, windows, louvers, and other building envelope features as needed.

A significant reconfiguration of the first academic bay in Amherst Hall is planned to expand the tiered Lecture Hall. The project will also enhance the appearance of the primary entrances and exterior elevations of both buildings. Additionally, Campbell Hall’s renovation will include the installation of an elevator and a new lobby.
