To enhance the resiliency and redundancy of the area’s infrastructure, Buckley SFB and US Army Corps of Engineers provided several key measures to be implemented. A new well will be drilled in the Lower Arapahoe Aquifer to meet non-potable water needs, such as HVAC cooling. A 1,000 square foot HEMP-shielded pump house will be constructed at the new well site, equipped with essential controls, piping, hydro-pneumatic tanks, and other distribution system components.
Existing facilities will be demolished, including the current pump house, controls, HEMP shielding, piping, and other water distribution components. The existing well, well house, and below-ground storage tank will be decommissioned and removed. A new connection will be established between the well and the cooling tower sump, with automated switching controls between well and city water sources, and the old well production water meter will be replaced with a new one.
